Pony Club is proud to offer a USEA Instructor Certification Program (ICP) Workshop in conjunction with the USPC Eastern Championships. Dressage Levels I & II Workshops will be offered on July 21-23, 2015, at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, VA.
USPC is hosting this workshop to give Pony Club Instructors, Upper Level Pony Club members (18 and over) and Examiners an opportunity to acquire a knowledge base, both theoretical and practical, upon which they can continue to build throughout their teaching lifetime. These workshops will be open to the general public as well, on a space-available basis.
Tuesday, July 21st, 8am to 5pm
Wednesday, July 22nd, 8am to 5pm
Thursday, July 23rd, 8am to 3pm – Individual candidate review (no auditors on Thursday afternoon)
The USEA ICP Faculty teaching the workshops will be Jerry Schurink who is a graduate A and is currently Director of Riding at Bridgewater College. Learn more about the USEA ICP program.
ICP materials are available for purchase from USEA and it’s recommended that candidate instructors and auditors have these in advance of attending a workshop. The Instructors Certification Program Standards Booklet is available and is priced at $7.50 per copy. This is the definitive outline of the program and the standards. The ICP workbook, a loose-leaf finder containing additional information about workshops, their content and structure is available for $25 and is very necessary for workshops and on-going study
To be a participating instructor candidate (18 and over), please complete the USPC ICP application form and USEA Release for ICP Workshops, (to complete as a fillable PDF, 1) SAVE the document to your computer 2) complete the document 3) resave the document) include 2 required recommendations from USPC DCs/CAs and/or RSs (attesting to the amount of teaching that you do for USPC clubs/centers and/or regions), and the verification of your three students upon request. Deadline for completed application is June 1, 2015.
We are able to offer this workshop and scholarships at no cost to the USPC participants and instructors through the Eleanor Brennan Fund. The value of this scholarship is $400.00 Space is very limited, so please submit your complete application ASAP.
To be an auditor, please complete the USPC ICP application form (to complete as a fillable PDF, 1) SAVE the document to your computer 2) complete the document 3) resave the document) and USEA Release for ICP Workshops. There is no limit to the number of auditors, and there will be no charge to USPC participants and instructors to audit this workshop, thanks to the Brennan family. Deadline for completed application is June 1, 2015.
