Resources & Materials

As of January 2012, Hunter Seat Equitation Standards of Proficiency were made available for local level testings.  After the D-1 level, members can opt to pursue certificates in Hunter Seat Equitation.  Upon completion of a Hunter Seat Equitation certificate at the C-2 level, members can proceed directly into the Show Jumping Certification track.

Just like any other certificate, the Horse Management skills at any level need to be completed in order to move onto the riding portion for that level, or a member can continue to the next level in Horse Management.

Be watching these pages as we bring in additional resources and materials to assist instructors and members in Hunter Seat Equitation!  If you have any materials, articles, pictures or other resources you'd lke to share, please submit them for review.

 USHJA Emerging Athlete Program

USHJA and the Emerging Athletes Committee would like to invite Pony Club to participate in the Emerging Athletes Program. The EAP was created specifically to provide opportunities for young riders to advance their education as they strive to become knowledgeable horsemen within the hunter/jumper community. The program includes flatwork, gymnastics, course work and a comprehensive stable management curriculum. From the Regional Clinics, 16 riders will be selected to advance to the National Training Session and compete for the title of the EAP National Champion and a $3,000 grant for advanced training.  Read more about this program!

If you have any questions about getting involved please contact USHJA or Shelley Mann at Pony Club.
