Pony Club Takes USEF Pony Jumpers by Storm

Lexington, KY, August 11, 2011— The storm is more of a Northwind as Nicole Kehrli and her 10 year old pony jumper partner Northwind's Opus finished day one on the winner's podium. The first night of competition for the USEF Pony Jumper Finals proved to be an exciting, fast-paced success for current Pony Club members who are guided by Coach Linda Allen and Chef de Equip Richard Lamb. The Pony Club team is made up of four members: Nicole Kehrli (C-3 member), Lauren Attanasio (C-2 member), and Alyssa Kurtz (C-2 member) all from Pickering Hunt Pony Club in PA, and Merrill Harvey (D-3 member) from Meadow Brook Hounds Pony Club in NY. Christine Lonsdale is a C-2 member of Elkridge-Harford Pony Club in MD and she is representing USEF zone 3.

Chef de Equip Richard Lamb pointed out that "Nicole and Opi showed how smooth turns can often be the fastest times.” But Nicole isn't looking back, "Today is team night! Team night is a lot of fun; members of Pony Cub always know how to work together as a great team!” Watch for Pony Club members to defend their titles as four members enter tonight's competition in the top 20. Pony Finals continue through the weekend with the Team Competition Finals tonight and the Individual Competition wrapping up on Saturday evening. Live streaming of all the action can be seen at http://www.shownet.biz/.
