Rider Safety Resources

USPC Safety Handbook

All sports, including horse sports, are inherently dangerous and therefore involve some level of risk. This booklet is written for District Commissioners, Center Administrators, Regional Supervisors, Rally Organizers, mounted meeting coordinators, and parents, but should be helpful to all Pony Club members and parents.

Along with guidance on running a safe Pony Club activity, this booklet also covers:

  • Attire
  • Fire and Facility Safety
  • Safely Working with Horses (on the Ground and Riding)
  • Traveling Safely
  • Human and Equine Health and Safety
