Member Opportunities

 Apply to become a Delegate
deadline: November 15

The National Youth Board (NYB) is a group of twenty dedicated older members of the United States Pony Clubs, which aims to increase communication between the organization's government and its members.

It is the mission of the National Youth Board (NYB) to act as a liaison between the youth membership of USPC and the Board of Governors and its sub-committees by communicating the needs, ideas, and concerns of USPC youth to governing officers. NYB members provide member insight and bring forward ideas and proposals regarding important issues, as well as conduct independent projects under the direction of the national office.

Delegates of the NYB must be at least 18 years of age, highly motivated and dedicated, and have strong leadership and communication skills. It is expected that delegates maintain an open communication with the members they represent, providing an efficient medium for communication in a professional manner. Their work requires regular communication with other NYB members, USPC staff, and the greater USPC community.  NYB members will build friendships with USPC members and leaders across the nation, enhance their leadership skills, learn more about how Pony Club runs, and have FUN!

In order to maintain a workable Board size the regions have been divided into 10 ares. Every year one of the delegates from each of the ten areas will be replaced, providing a rotating term of two years that maintains linearity of the NYB agenda.

The areas contain regions as defined below:

Area 1: Alaska, Big Sky, Camino Real, Hawaii, Inland Empire, Middle California,  Northwest, Oregon, Sierra Pacific, Southern California

Area 2: Intermountain, Midwest, Rocky Mountain, Southwest

Area 3: Great Lakes, Heartland, Lake Shore, Midsouth, North Central Prairie, Northern Lakes, Tri-State

Area 4: Deep South, Red River, Rio Grande

Area 5: Capital, Delmarva, Eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Old Dominion, Virginia

Area 6: Central New England, Metropolitan, New York Upper Connecticut, Northeast, Southeastern New England, Western New England, Western New York , White Mountain

Area 7: Carolina, South, Sunshine

Please contact the delegate in your area with any questions you have about NYB, its mission, or to share ideas of topics or projects you'd like the NYB to consider. Contact Us or use our OnlineForm!

The National Youth Board will be accepting delegate applications throughout the summer - deadline for application submission is September 30. All interested USPC members over the age of 18 are encouraged to apply!

The National Youth Board was created in 2009 by delegates from the 2008 National Youth Council. For more information on the National Youth Congress, click here.
