The Top 5 Reasons to Attend the Pony Club Annual Meeting

Lexington, KY, January 10, 2012—Number 5… It is in New Orleans! The Sheraton New Orleans overlooks the mighty Mississippi River, and is at the heart of it all. For all the sights, sounds and flavors of New Orleans, just step outside, cross historic Canal Street, and you're in the French Quarter.

Number 4… The shopping! Pony Club has gathered an assortment of fantastic shops and organizations for the trade fair open all day January 26-29, 2012. Silent and live auctions will tempt your competitive shopping side, while the Pony Club Bookstore taps your reading interests and even offers great gift ideas for the unlucky people you left at home.

Number 3… The night life! Pony Club has packed family fun into each and every evening! You can take a River Boat Cruise, dine on a balcony overlooking the French Quarter and even attend a masked Mardi Gras Ball. All ages have planned activities that will make memories to last a lifetime!

Number 2… Learning opportunities! This year’s meeting will introduce the new Equine Education Symposium along with an extended schedule to involve as many equine enthusiasts as possible. Each day will offer 30-plus workshops and seminars in addition to the Pony Club paddock, the anatomy room, and a research fair. Please visit www.annualmeeting.ponyclub.org for topics as they are confirmed. Currently Scheduled Topics include: Equine Nutrition, Equestrian Sports Psychology with Daniel Stewart, Introducing your Horse to Eventing, 3-2-1 Contact: Understanding the Whys of Bit Choice, Self-Carriage: You and Your Horse in Harmony on Flat and Over Fences, and, Introducing Your Horse to Polo.

The Number 1 reason to attend the Pony Club annual meeting is… It’s Pony Club! It’s horse people having a good time together! Laissez les bon temps rouler! Let the good times roll, is the theme for the United States Pony Clubs 2012 Annual Meeting and Equine Educational Symposium. Pony Club is both excited and proud to offer new opportunities for attendees visiting the Deep South Region. Over 600 members, leaders, guests, and alumni will let the good times roll in New Orleans as they experience all the organization has to offer. The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. (USPC) was founded in 1954 as a nonprofit national youth organization to teach riding and horsemanship through a formal educational program. Many of the nation’s top equestrians, including many of our Olympic team members and many business professionals, government leaders and career military officers, have roots in Pony Club. Youth members range in age from as young as 4 through age 25, and include adult members of the Horsemasters Program. There are approximately 10,000 members in 600 clubs and riding centers in 43 regions throughout the country www.ponyclub.org.
