In March 2011 the United States will host the International Foxhunting Exchange, which rotates between the US, the United Kingdom and Ireland. USPC will select four team members, along with a chaperone. The US will host the other two countries for foxhunting in Virginia and Maryland, a cultural exchange and tour.
The information replaces all previous information about Foxhunting Exchanges.
Applications for participants and chaperone are available on the USPC Web site. Completed applications, recommendation letters, release forms & signed Code of Conduct plus a $500 land fee payable to USPC, will be due December 15, 2010.
Applicants must be 16 years of age by January 1, 2011, and no older than 25, rated as a C-3 or higher and a current member of a MFHA recognized hunt.
Participants will be responsible for arranging and paying for transportation to Middleburg, VA, from their home. For those flying to Virginia, the destination airport is Washington Dulles. All exchange participants arriving by air will be picked up at the airport by the exchange organizer or her representative in a mini-bus with hired driver and taken to Middleburg to meet up with host families.
Participants will be staying in host family homes, transported during the exchange by hosts or USPC officials or hired drivers.
