All Roads Lead to Kentucky and USPC Festival!

July 3, 2014 LEXINGTON, KY – The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. will be celebrating 60 years in equine education at the 11th triennial Festival to take place July 14-21, 2014, at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. It is anticipated that over 5,000 members, their families, friends, volunteers and Pony Club leadership will make the trek to Kentucky to enjoy the competition, the learning and the fun!

USPC Festival Championships is the culmination of years of training and qualifying competitions for over 1,100 lucky members, and is the most popular and best attended Pony Club activity. Normally held yearly, National Championships in Eventing, Dressage, Show Jumping, Mounted Games, Tetrathlon, Polocrosse, and Quiz are incorporated into the first part of the Festival week.

The educational phase of Festival offers a unique learning experience, with outstanding clinics, both mounted and unmounted presented for members, parents and volunteers. The clinics are conducted by experts in the various disciplines. Visit http://www.ponyclub.org/?page=Festival  to see a complete list of these talented individuals. A popular non-riding portion of Festival offers a myriad of clinics and workshops teaching all things equine. Members from across the United States, as well as non-members can participate in these unmounted educational opportunities.

Pony Club promotes teamwork, a sense of responsibility, safety, self-confidence and leadership, while teaching members riding and the care of horses. Members build upon their horsemanship by progressing through the Standards of Proficiencies and earning certifications as each level requires an increased depth of knowledge and skill. There are opportunities to compete through events such as Rallies and Championships, and to create friendships and skills that last a lifetime.

About Pony Club - The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. (Pony Club) was founded in 1954 as a nonprofit national youth organization to teach riding and horsemanship through a formal educational program. There are approximately 10,000 Pony Club members in over 600 clubs and riding centers throughout the country. Many of the nation’s top equestrians, including several of our Olympic team members, business professionals, government leaders and career military officers, have roots in Pony Club. Traditional members range in age from as young as 4 through age 25. Pony Club also offers educational opportunities to over 500 adult members in its Horsemasters Program. www.ponyclub.org.
