First Triple A

September 11, 2013 (Lexington, KY) – For the first time in the 60 year history of The United States Pony Clubs, Inc., a member has achieved three A certifications. Ashley Anderson Glynn, a member of Peace Point Pony Club in the Tri-State Region, earned her A Certification in Show Jumping this past weekend at Riga Meadow Equestrian Center in Salisbury, CT. She adds that honor to her A-Dressage Certification received in 2010, and her A-Traditional Certification received in 2013.

Certifications are based on the USPC Standards of Proficiency, which provide a system for individualized instruction. The Standards describe a clear progression of skills in riding and Horse Management, and provide opportunities for goal setting as members are encouraged to proceed through those skills at a pace that is comfortable for them. Certifications are given in an effort to recognize achievements and encourage members to gain confidence, independence and good safety habits while working with horses.

"Receiving your A Certification is such a huge accomplishment,” said Connie Jehlik, USPC Instruction Services Director. "What Ashley has done to achieve all three, Dressage, Traditional, and Show Jumping shows her dedication and commitment to acquiring the knowledge and skills required by an Upper Level Pony Club member. Ashley is an amazing inspiration to her club, region, and USPC.”

Continuing to build on her accomplishments in Pony Club, Ashley is building a business, including training, boarding and lessons at her facility in Hanover, New Hampshire. "I love to teach. It’s so gratifying to see the progression of learning a new skill,” noted Ashley. "It’s a way to give back and to inspire young people to fulfill their dreams.”
